Paper Trails: Exploring the Versatility of Paper

I have new pattern mixing paper cut work in Paper Trails, a group exhibition opening this Thursday April 11th at Cityscape gallery in North Vancouver.

About the show:

”Paper can evoke feelings of love, sadness, excitement, and longing. It can transport you to a memory, a time, or a place. Even as technology advances and more things become paperless, there is a tactility, permanence, and transformation that can happen with actual paper. Whether it is sculptured, cut, altered, molded, mixed, dyed, and more, seventeen contemporary artists are exploring paper in new ways.”

“Within each artwork themes of grief, contemporary culture, reflection of daily moments, growth, pattern symbolism, and more are explored, but what unifies them all is simply the source: paper! We invite visitors to explore the joy and wonder of paper.”

Participating artists:
Alex Asai, Amberlie Perkin, Andrea McKenzie, Ashley Cook, Christina Peressini, Concealed Studio, Grant Withers, Ilka Bauer, Louise Phillips, M’Beth Schoenfeld, Monique Martin, Olena Martynets, Rachael Ashe, Ramon Ramos, Xiaoyin Luo, Yasaman Moussavi
